September 28, 2010 became a memorable day not only for the parishioners of the Queen of Peace Parish but also for the faithful of the Diocese of Bacolod. This day marked the feast day of the first Filipino canonized saint Lorenzo Ruiz. With the theme “A Thousand Lives for Christ: The Witnessing of the Modern Laity” various parochial lay organizations, students, professionals and civic groups joined the celebration and renewed their commitment for a more and dynamic participation in the Church.

 The event started with a procession from San Sebastian Cathedral to the Queen of Peace Parish Church, also the Shrine of St. Lorenzo Ruiz in the Diocese of Bacolod followed by the celebration of the Eucharist with His Excellency Most Reverend Vicente M. Navarra, DD as the main celebrant. In his homily, the lowly bishop reminded the laity of their important role and contribution for the growth of the Church. Moreover, he said that serving the Church demands a commitment that knows how to love and sacrifice for Christ and his people.
